Find out how researchers from different industries and disciplines have embraced the Formula 1 spirit for innovation and transferred it into our everyday lives. 20 innovative by-products of Formula 1TM will show how sophisticated composite materials and rigorous pit-stop strategies devised by British teams are currently applied to improve safety and efficiency in our hospitals, homes and working places. Formula 1 has a long and proud heritage of British racing triumph, but motorsport's more than the Grand Prix winners - there is a wealth of winning technology too. British teams, engineers and mechanics have shown themselves to be at the forefront of Formula 1, a world where human skill, innovation and cutting-edge technology are pushed to the extreme. The exhibition will feature unique items such as the Ovei Wellbeing Capsule, Baby Pod II and Solar B Solar Probe.

The Royal Ballet: Chroma + Tryst + Symphony in C

Dates: 22.5.2010 to 11.6.2010. Chroma pushes the dancers to their physical limits through McGregor's astonishing and demanding choreography and is set to spine-tingling music from Joby Talbot and the White Stripes. Tryst is an orchestral tour de force comprising five sharply defined modes, from the brassy, action-packed challenge of the outer sections, through quieter Celtic wistfulness and an iridescent central section for strings. Sym phony in C is a vivid example of Balanchine's ability to portray the very essence of his chosen music, as the varying melodies, rhythms and textures of Bizet's youthful score are reflected magically in dance. The Bloomberg Commission

Dates: 5.4.2009 to 18.4.2010. London-based Polish artist Goshka Macuga is widely acclaimed for her sculptural installations of artefacts and photographs, derived from art history, politics and anthropology. The artist focuses on a key moment in the history of the Whitechapel Gallery: the presentation of Picassos Guernica in 1939. Organised in collaboration with the Stepney Trade Union Council in east London to raise awareness of the Spanish Civil War, the suggested price of entry was a pair of boots, left underneath the work, to be sent to the Republicans in Spain. Forming the centrepiece of Macugas installation is a life-size tapestry of Guernica.

Colour and Line: Turner's Experiments

Goshka Macuga

This temporary exhibition showcases 20 examples where F1 technology is impacting on our lives, from changing the way we look after patients and design our sports equipment, to maintaining the heating systems in our homes. The exhibition will feature unique items such as the Baby Pod II, Solar B Solar Probe and Ovei Wellbeing Capsule. The Ovei Capsule has been developed by McLaren Applied Technologies.
