Daniele Silvestri

Dates: 9.2.2009. How to describe Daniele Silvestri with few words? well, Fun & Political Engagement: He has a gift for telling stories of criminality, injustice, poorness, rebellion with a magic taste of happiness. His concerts are always a surprise: one different from the other, full of energy, rhythm and beautiful lyrics. Born in Roma in 1968 (what a pointmark!!) he went across the Italian music scenary with an handfull of albums that were always pointed out by the critics for their high music quality. From his first album "Daniele Silvestri" - 1994 ( Premio Tenco award as first release - Musica&Dischi award as first release ) to Sanremo 1995 ( critics award as best lyrics ) to the second album " Prima di essere uomo" (best album of 95 for Musica&Dischi award - Premio Tenco Award), Daniele Silvestri listed an impressive amount of awards throu' his career. In 1996 was released the double cd "Il dado", including the song "Cohiba", dedicated to Che Guevara, still his most popular and requested songs in concert. Back again at the Sanremo Festival in 1999 with the hit "Aria", song against the penal death (and won both Critics and Jury Awards). On the meantime, Daniele Silvestri wrote several film soundtrack and songs for theatre pieces, won the Premio Ciampi Award, the Mariposa Award and the Lunezia Award. In 2002 Daniele Silvestri was again at the Sanremo Festival and smashed the charts with the winning song "Salir" first in sales and radios charts for several month, winner of 4 awards at the Italian Music Awards. Twice in Mozambico for benefit concerts, more tours, more movie and theatre piece soundtracks, one book of novels, other new record "il latitante" with the most played song of 2007 "La Paranza" Daniele Silvestri seems to have tons of energy to invest in several projects.
