Henry VIII: Heads and Hearts

Dates: 10.4.2009. Henry VIII's favourite royal residence has been majestically transformed to mark his 500th anniversary, with new displays and presentations bringing the story of the King and his court to life as never before! The Tudor palace and Henry VIII's State Apartments have been lavishly re-presented, featuring magnificent new furnishings, important historic exhibits, and the King's own council chamber which will be opened to the public for the very first time. Also at Hampton Court Palace in 2009 and beyond, we will be hosting the wedding party for Henry VIII's marriage to his sixth wife Kateryn Parr. Every day from 10 April 2009 (Easter Bank Holiday Weekend), live historical interpreters resplendent in Tudor costume will recreate the wedding celebrations, with Tudor costumes also available for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in court life! A family friendly way to experience the 16th century palace with much to see and do.
