Dates: 18.12.2008 to 31.5.2009. Chertsey Museum's Discovery Zone has been transported back to the 1940s for the Museums's latest display, Bully Beef & Bullseyes. The display looks at life on the home front in Runnymede during the Second World War. The centre piece of the exhibition is a reproduction of a Morrison air-raid shelter on which is the weekly food ration. Other displays focus on evacuees, the Make Do and Mend campaign, role of the Home Guard and the local war effort, with a number of interactive exhibits. The world's only factory manufacturing darts for the troops at this time was based in Addlestone, which explains the reference to bullseyes in the title.
