Dates: 10.4.2009 to 26.4.2009. Featuring by: Acrylic, Montana Gold, Charcoal & Pencil on Canvas. Themes of social decay, conflict and growing up in Britain's Brave New World, The Kids Are All Riot features a retrospective of prolific works and new originals, transforming the duplex venue into a cutting edge situation not to be missed! Goldie's long-awaited 27 colour screenprint Apocalypse Angel will also be released alongside his new book Heathtown, an account of Goldie's early years as a street artist. This very limited and exclusive collection reflects what lies close to Goldie's heart and his concern for the kids of today. Describing the situation as a "State of Emergency the ASBO-lute meltdown of the system." Goldie depicts children out of control and battling with authority. His work shows the absurd becoming normality, the shocking and taboo deconstructed and desensitised. He goes on to protest how "the understanding of those that count stands for nothing, we would sooner stand outside on the hustle than take the same spoon-fed bullshit that the system sees fit!" This personal perspective combines with the pursuit of a unique technical aesthetic - joining the dots from Goldie's pioneering graffiti heritage to the here, now and beyond. The Kids Are All Riot is an exhibition that pushes boundaries further, harder and darker than before; it is England's future - a prophecy for the ASBO generation written with spray cans and Stanley knives.
