Dates: 10.6.2009 to 10.7.2009. As a tribute to director Anthony Minghella, his production of Madam Butterfly returns to the London Coliseum. Described by The Sunday Telegraph as 'the most beautiful show in operatic London', this production sold out its three previous runs and has received attention for its sets and costumes. Puccini's music underscores the tale of a young Japanese geisha girl's love for a callous American naval lieutenant in a tragic love story. Judith Howarth reprises her performance in the title role and Christine Rice sings the part of Suzuki, with ENO Music Director Edward Gardner conducting Puccini's score.
