Byzantium 330-1453

Dates: 25.10.2008 to 22.3.2009. Byzantium 330-1453, is a collaboration between the Royal Academy of Arts and the Benaki Museum in Athens. Highlighting the splendours of the Byzantine Empire and providing a grand scale survey of 1,000 years of history, Byzantium 330-1453 comprises around 300 objects including icons, detached wall paintings, micro-mosaics, ivories, enamels plus gold and silver metalwork.
