Gauri Sharma Tripathi: The Moving Root

Dates: 28.3.2009. A new piece by Southbank centre artist-in-residence and choreographer Gauri Sharma Tripathi, which explores the unique bond between two dancers. In the centre of an in-the-round stage, performers Seema Patel and Payal Patel juxtapose new dance techniques within the traditional repertoire of kathak accompanied by live music. The multi-layered piece allows the audience to view this classical form from an alternative perspective.
