Dates: 11.6.2009 to 12.6.2009. Bf by Freddie Opoku Addaie and Jorge Crecis. Two men trapped in an unknown game of power, dominance and perseverance, yet searching for company and communication. Bf explores the quest for shared existence in the face of the essential loneliness of the individual and the difficulty of communication. Bf has been made possible with funding and in-kind support from Arts Council England, Royal Opera House, Swindon Dance, East London Dance and The Place. She Was a Knife Thrower's Assistant by Girl Jonah: Caroline Bowditch and Fiona Wright. Playing the same character. Some kind of double. We are both she. Solo dances at the same time. Different songs at the same time. Looking for a voice. Looking for a song. Set in a back-stage dressing room, this gently provocative work evokes through dance, songs and spoken word the picture of a woman reflecting on the risks we all take and wondering how we can ever be sure where danger is most likely to come from. Supported by Arts Council of England with additional support in kind from Dance City, Newcastle.
