Faces of Scotland

Dates: 15.9.2009 to 19.12.2009. A one-off opportunity to see all the major works from The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in London following its closure for renovation. The origins of The Scottish National Portrait Gallery can be traced back to the late eighteenth century and to the enthusiasm of one man, the mildly eccentric David, 11th Earl of Buchan. It opened its doors to the public in 1889 and features portraits in the fields of science and medicine, philosophy and literature.
